Maude M. Gall, Vista South, formerly of Temple Ave., both in New Castle, passed away peacefully at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday (9-5-12) in Jameson Hospital after a two year battle with cancer. She was 83.
She was born January 26, 1929 in New Castle one of 12 children born to William and Myrtle Zeigler Reed.
Maude worked for thirty years at May's Donut Shop, she always served her customers with a smile. After retirement, her favorite past time was taking care of her grandson Aaron.
She and her husband Jack whom she shared 64 years of marriage loved to dance. They enjoyed many years of dancing at both the Moose and Eagles Clubs. They were proud to have won top prize several times over the years at the Old Timers Day dance competitions.
She enjoyed exercising, walking, and riding her bike throughout her eastside neighborhood, visiting old friends, and making new ones. She loved to make people happy and would send cards and letters to everyone just to brighten up their day.
She is survived by her husband Jack Gall whom she married August 16, 1948. She also leaves her daughter Cindy M. Prince and her husband Alan of Poland, OH; her son, Jack and his wife Georgann, New Castle, and a grandson Aaron Gall. She also leaves her step granddaughter, Nicole Wayt and her husband Noah, and her step grandson, Danny Prince, and two step great grandchildren, Arison and Michelina Wayt. She leaves her twin sister, Myrtle Mariacher, New Castle, two brothers, Rev. Donald Reed, Hermitage, and Merle Reed, New Castle, 29 nieces and nephews, and 4 grand dogs, Bosley, Hilde, Gucci, and Willow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six sisters, Gladys Schwartz, Edna Mae Pollock, Helen Walthour, Nellie Huff, Harriet Waddington, and Annetta Hoover, and two brothers, George and William Reed.
Calling hours will be held Sunday (9-9-12) 3 to 7 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday (9-10-12) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory and Inc. 111 West Falls St. New Castle.
A funeral service will be held on Monday (9-10-12) in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Reed, Maude's brother, and the founding pastor of Crossing Path Ministries officiating.
Interment will follow in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
