Matilda "Tillie" Pandza of Farrell passed away unexpectedly at 10: 15 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015, in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System, due to a fall a month earlier. She was 94. Tillie was born March 26, 1921, in Farrell, a daughter of Anthony and Margaret (Bacher) Greco. She was a lifelong Farrell resident and a 1939 graduate of Farrell High School. She was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation for more than 40 years, retiring in 1984 when the plant closed. A lifelong active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell, Tillie belonged to its Bethany Club and Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. Tillie enjoyed traveling, particularly by motor coach; golfing, bowling, bocce and playing cards. She was very independent and able to maintain her home and property until last year. Her husband, John Peter "Bucky" Pandza, whom she married in 1957, passed away July 15, 1967. Surviving are several loving nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her husband, Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and four sisters. Calling hour will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. A prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home before leaving for church. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell, with Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant. Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
