Obituary

Matilda S. 'Sue' Dawson, Hermitage, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Saturday (8-20-11) in her home. She was 85.

Mrs. Dawson was born January 14, 1926 in Sharon a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Suzanna Helch Schuller.

A homemaker, she was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township.

Sue was a volunteer for many different organizations throughout her life.

Her husband, Walter F. Dawson, whom she married October 15, 1949, passed away September 20, 2002.

Surviving are: two daughters, Susan M. Horvath and her husband David, Hermitage; and Debora D. Witkowski and her husband Raymond, New Wilmington, PA; two sons, Benjamin H. Dawson and his wife Diane M.; and Donald O. Dawson and his wife Mary, all Mercer; ten grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Maxon, Lakewood, California; and a brother, John Schuller, Hernando, Florida.

Besides her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by four sisters, Hilda Grandy, Sophie Andrusky, Margie Dawson and Genevieve Schuller; and four brothers, Daniel, Rudie, Michael and George Schuller.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, One Children's Hospital Dr., 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224 or ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease), 1275 K St. NW, Suite 1050, Washington, DC 20005.
