Maryann R. Esmond, 68, of Farrell, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in her home.
Mrs. Esmond was born August 22, 1950, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Michael and Marie (Antos) Rusnak. She was a 1968 graduate of Sharon High School.
Maryann was of the protestant faith.
Primarily a homemaker, she was also employed as an administrative assistant for state representative Mike Gruitza, Don Reed Associates, Hermitage and PI&I Motor Express, Masury.
A giving and helping person, Maryann assisted abused women through Aware Inc., Sharon, and was very active in political campaigning. She enjoyed spending time cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Richard "Rick" Esmond, whom she married November 10, 1990; a sister, Alice Valetich, of Michigan; and three brothers, Robert Rusnak and his wife Eleanor, of Columbia, MD, Thomas Rusnak and his wife Beverly, of Ohio, and George
Rusnak, of Lamertine, PA.
In addition to her parents, Maryann was preceded in death by and infant child; two sisters, Arlene Dunn and her husband Jerry, and Joyce Rusnak; and a brother, Raymond Rusnak.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Sheepfold Ministries, 233 N. Irvine Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (04/09/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (04/10/2019) in the funeral home with Rev. Phil Roland, officiating.
Interment: Brookfield Twp. Cemetery, Ohio.
