Mary Ellen Zreliak, 87, of Hartford Twp., OH, passed away Monday evening, October 14, 2024, in her home after lingering health issues.
Mrs. Zreliak was born on May 19, 1937, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Sember) Stahl. She attended Sharpsville High School and was part of the Class of 1955.
Following high school, she worked at Packard Electric, Warren, OH, where she was an assembler, retiring with 30 years of service.
Mary Ellen was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
An avid knitter, she took pride in making her family afghans, ensuring every niece and nephew had one to cherish. She also enjoyed going to NASCAR races in her RV, swimming and floating in the pool and fishing, especially on Lake Erie. Mary Ellen also trained dogs for shows and competitions.
Her husband, Eugene J. Zreliak, Sr., whom she married on October 23, 1954, in Winchester, WV, passed away on December 23, 2015.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Anne Zreliak, Hartford; two sons, Eugene J. Zreliak, Jr., Burghilll, OH, and Keith W. Zreliak and his wife Della, Masury, OH; a granddaughter, Adrianne Coleman and her husband Joe; and three great-grandchildren, Bradyn, Blake and Aubrie. Also surviving is a sister, Virginia "Ginger" Holcomb, Arkansas; a brother, Fred "Fritz" Stahl, Hartford; three sisters-in-law, Mary Suhar, Kinsman, OH, Betty Ealy, Sharpsville, and Suzanna Vernon and her husband Ross, Transfer; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Zreliak and his wife Lillian, Sharpsville, and Jerry Zreliak and his wife Marie, Hermitage; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Andrew and Susan Zreliak; five brothers-in-law, Andrew Suhar, James Lucik, Henry Venetta and his wife Kathleen, Gary Ealy and Roy Holcomb.
Mary Ellen's family would like to thank the staff of Patriot Home Care and Hey Day Health for the attention and care given to their mother.
