Mary Ann Widmyer of Sharon passed away unexpectedly at 11:11 a.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 43.
Mary Ann was born August 9, 1973, in Sharon, a daughter of Anthony J. and Mary E. Duffy Reno.
She was a 1991 graduate of Hickory High School and attended Penn State University, Shangango Valley Campus.
Mary Ann married her beloved husband of 20 years, Scott Widmyer, on October 26, 1996. He survives at home. A homemaker, she dedicated her life to her family, particularly her children.
Mary Ann served as her children's learning coach, having successfully homeschooled all three. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
Mary Ann loved arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking and crocheting blankets, hats and scarves. She also enjoyed solving Sudoku Puzzles and playing board games with family and friends.
Surviving are: her husband, Scott; and their three children, Miranda K., Madeline L. and Ian S. Widmyer, all Sharon; her father, Anthony J. Reno; and a sister, Monica R. Reno, both Hermitage; and her father – and mother-in-law, Arthur and Gerda Widmyer, Sharon.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her mother.
Calling hours will be 5 p.m. until the time of service Thursday (1-26-17) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home, with Rev. David Carr, parochial vicar of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
