Mary J. "Ginger" Wardale of Transfer passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2017, at her residence. She was 73.
Ginger was born July 11, 1944, in Sharon, a daughter of Wayne and Mary (Rappold) Thompson.
She was a 1962 graduate of Sharon High School and then completed courses to become a certified X-ray technician.
Ginger later graduated from La Roche College, Pittsburgh, where she earned a bachelor of art degree in history in 1989.
She worked as an X-ray technician for several local hospitals, including Sharon Regional Health System and Grove City Medical Center. Ginger also traveled to several cities throughout the country working in the same capacity.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Ginger enjoyed watching musicals and traveling, especially to Arizona.
She loved to study history, particularly Native American, medieval and European history.
Surviving are: a daughter, Heather Weible and her husband Robert of Monroeville; and a sister, Joyce B. Dale of Philadelphia.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents.
