Mary Alice Sigler, 478 E. State St., Sharon, passed on to eternal rest at 4:25 a.m. Sunday (10-17-10) surrounded by her family in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was 75.
She was born in Oil City on April 5, 1935 the daughter of Harry and Nora Eckles Costello.
Mary attended Sharon Schools and worked a short time for Daffin's Candies before becoming a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother and later a kind and committed grandmother.
Mary's life was blessed by her children and grandchildren and she particularly enjoyed having them drop by for a lunch or a meal. Any child care that was needed had to be done at Mary's. She also served 39 years as senior Goodwill Ambassador for Daffin's Candies. Her surviving children are Bernard Sigler and his wife Monica, Sharpsville, Gary Sigler, Hermitage, Joseph Sigler, Hermitage, and Sandra Hoover and her husband Brian, Sharon, her sister, Jean Daffin, and her niece Diane Daffin both, Hermitage, and her brother Joseph Costello, Sharpsville.
Nonnie will be loved and remembered forever by her grandchildren, Erica Sigler Fusco and her husband Josh, Moon Township, Alyssa, Braeden, and Alexa Hoover all of Sharon, Pa., Shane Sigler, Indiana, Pa., Nathan Sigler, Hermitage, Brendan Sigler, Mercer, and Sierra Sigler, Hermitage. She is also survived by her former husband Bernard Sigler, Fredonia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harry Costello.
