Mary T. Shipula, of Jamestown and formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2016. She was 70. She was born October 7, 1945 in Cleveland, the daughter of John and Genevieve Sutkus Maminskas. She was a graduate of Lourdes Academy, Cleveland.
Mary was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, Jamestown and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #5424, Jamestown. She was an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother. She won countless awards for her pie-making, loved sharing recipes at the vegetable stand and had a passion for flea-marketing.
She was the beloved wife of Larry Shipula whom she married November 25, 1967. He survives at home. Also surviving are her four children; Steven, David (Agnes), Tim and Natalie Shipula; one sister, Ann Greczanik (Frank); one brother, Michael Maminskas (Donna); and five grandchildren, Lawrence, Ryan, Shirley, Daniel and Emily Shipula.
Calling hours: The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m., Monday (8/1/2016) at St. Margaret Catholic Church, 701 Denver Street, Jamestown, PA 16134.
Services: A Memorial mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. in the church immediately following calling hours.
