Obituary
Mary Jo Sed of Hermitage passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday (2-9-17) in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 79.
Mrs. Sed was born May 15, 1937, in Kane, PA, a daughter of Frank and Irene McCready Marasco.
She and her family moved to the area in 1943. Mary Jo began her career as a Registered Nurse (RN) and retired from O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury, as a family liaison.
She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon.
Surviving is her son, James Sed, Pittsburgh; two daughters, Mary Kathryn Petrini and her husband Robert, Pittsburgh; and Elizabeth "Beth" Kelly and her husband Don, Hermitage; a brother, Joseph Marasco and his wife Ellie, Norfolk, VA; six grandchildren, Nate Sed, Kristen Wilson and her husband Brad; Bobby Petrini and his wife Julia; Thomas Petrini and his wife Kelley; Daniel Kelly and James Kelly and his wife Amanda; eight great grandchildren, Violet and Henry Kelly; Nolan, Victor and Brielle Wilson; and Lucca, Giana and Francesca Petrini; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jim Dickey; and her beloved dog, Gizmo.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, John Marasco and Pasqual Marasco, who died in infancy.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Rose Cemetery endowment fund, P.O. Box 1607, Hermitage, PA 16148; or to a charity of the donor's choice. Per Mary Jo's wishes, there are no calling hours.
Private Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery chapel, Hermitage, with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage. Arrangements by J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
