Mary Aiello Russo, 1058 Myrtle Place, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 11:00 p.m. Thursday (8-30-12) in the Transitional Care Unit of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 79.

She was born September 18, 1932 in Farrell, the daughter of Francisco and Caterina Scalzo Aiello.

She belonged to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, and St. Stanislaus-Holy Trinity Church, Sharon.

Mary is survived at home by her husband of 57 years, Dominick A. Russo, whom she married in Our Lady of Fatima Church on June 4, 1955. She is also survived by one son, Robert D. Russo, one daughter Amy Augustine, and two grandsons, Cody and Dominick Augustine.

She is survived by her twin brothers Joseph R. Aiello, and his wife, Bernice, Farrell, and Carmen J. Aiello, and his wife Judy, Sharon, and a brother Anthony J. Aiello, and his wife Deborah, Hermitage, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Teresa M. Scully, a brother, Nick Aiello, and her nephew Nicholas Aiello.

Her family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in her name may do so to the charity of their choice.

Services: A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mary at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St ., Sharon.

Internment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
