Mary Joan Pavlich, 96, of New Castle passed away the morning of Saturday, May 6, 2017, in her residence.
Ms. Pavlich was born September 29, 1920, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Fabian and Mary Katkish Pavlich.
Mary was a lifelong area resident and 1938 graduate of Shenango High School. Following graduation, she then matriculated to Duquesne University where she earned a bachelor's of science.
Mary retired from the product testing department of the Merck Corporation where she was employed for many years.
She was a devout member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary's Church.
Mary will be remembered for being a very kind, loving and compassionate person.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Albert Pavlich.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours.
A graveside blessing service and rite of committal will be noon Thursday ( 5-11-2017 ) in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 2305 Wilmington, New Castle, PA 16105 , with Rev. Frank Almade, pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating.
