Mary Pacsi, 623 Mercer Ave., Farrell, passed away peacefully at 2:40 p.m. Monday (2-8-10) in Sharon Regional Health System with family at her side following an extended illness. She was 85.
Mary was born May 6, 1924 in Farrell, Pa. the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Walko Sekerak.
A lifelong Farrell resident, she graduated from Farrell High School.
She was employed for several years at the Mercer County Court House where she worked in the surplus food Office.
Mary was a familiar face at the polls where she served as a poll watcher for many years.
She was a long time member of St. Ann's Church and its Alter Rosary Society, or what is now known as Our Lady of Fatima- St. Ann Church. In her early years, she volunteered much of her time at St. Ann's School and later at Kennedy Christian High School with their booster organization. She enjoyed cooking and baking and a wedding wasn't a wedding without one of Mary's beautiful cakes.
She married Herman A. Pacsi on March 6, 1943, he survives at the residence. Also surviving are her two sons, Robert A. Pacsi and his wife Mary Frances Morocco Pacsi, Willoughby, Oh., and Ken J. Pacsi and his wife Nina Russello Pacsi, Parma, Oh; five grandchildren, Rob Pacsi, Stephanie Leffler, Kimberly Marie Pacsi, Michelle Kawa, and Michael Shott; 8 great grandchildren, Robby and Lauren Pacsi, Gianna and Sofia Leffler, Isabella and Brody Kawa, and twins, Michael and Olivia Shott.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Martha Klein and Helen Sekerak, and one brother John Sekerak.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (2-11-10) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as the celebrant.
A brief prayer service will take place at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home prior to leaving for the church.
Interment: St. John's Orthodox Cemetery, Hermitage.
