Mary O'Brien, 3683 Sample Rd., Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly at 7:57 p.m. Thursday (5-5-11) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 84.
Mrs. O'Brien was born June 29, 1926 in Krasnodar, Russia a daughter of the late Michail and Maria Michilovna Tscharskaja.
She was educated in Russia and valedictorian of her graduating class. She then moved to Germany where she met Doyle R. O'Brien, an American soldier. The two were married July 9, 1947 in Germany and settled in Hermitage following the war.
Mary was a homemaker and a charter member of Neshannock Alliance Church, 3109 S Keel Ridge Rd., West Middlesex, PA.
Surviving are: her husband of 63 years, Doyle R. O'Brien, Sr.; two daughters, Rosemary O'Brien, Willoughby, Ohio; and Clara O'Brien and her husband Lance Hulme, Greensboro, North Carolina; four sons, Doyle O'Brien, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Fredonia, PA; Albert O'Brien, Masury, Ohio; Jonathan O'Brien, Coitsville, Ohio; and Nathan O'Brien, Transfer, PA; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa O'Brien; and an infant brother.
Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday (5-8-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday (5-9-11) in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey T. Smith, senior pastor of Neshannock Alliance Church, officiating.
