Mary Elizabeth Moroco

Mary Elizabeth Moroco, 79, Farrell, passed away Thursday evening, August 27, 2026, at Sharon Regional Hospital.

Ms. Moroco was born July 22, 1947, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Jacob and Stella (Kuczynski) Moroco. A lifelong resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1965. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from Villa Maria College, Erie, in 1969 and later went on to Youngstown State University, where she earned her master's degree in education in 1975.

Upon graduating from Youngstown State University, she returned to the Farrell Area School District as a teacher, where she retired after working for over 30 years. She was known by her friends and coworkers as "Mary Liz."

Mary was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex.

An avid reader, Mary also enjoyed traveling around the world, knitting, watching the daily news and soap operas. She was also a talented painter.

She is survived by her cousins; a good friend and caregiver, Annette Manilla; and her beloved dog, Rocco.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her much-loved dog, Giacomo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday (9/3/26) in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon Rd., West Middlesex.

Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Thursday (9/3/26), in the church, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
