Obituary

Mary Jane Milano of Hermitage passed away at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage. She was 87. Mrs. Milano was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Sharon, a daughter of Charles and Mary Brew Hassell. As a lifelong area resident, she attended Farrell High School. A homemaker and member of the former Calvary Baptist Church, she was most recently a member of The Valley Church, both Hermitage. She belonged to the Russian Club of Sharon and the Degree of Honor Lodge 74, Farrell. Her husband, Anthony Michael Milano, whom she married July 26, 1952, passed away March 3, 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Tina Winiecki, Clark; a son, Joseph Michael Milano, Sharon; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a longtime friend and caregiver, Karen Rodgers, Hermitage. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Toni Lee Fruit; six sisters, Elizabeth Zec, Dolly Hassell, Madeline Oleszko, Helen Rupert, Doris Fennell and Nancy Kitch; four brothers, Edward, Ralph, Gerald "Jerry" and Joseph Hassell; and a son-in-law, Ron Winiecki. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to IHS Gospel Ministries, 786 Karen Lane; or The Valley Church, 1957 Pine Hollow Blvd., both Hermitage, PA 16148. Service: Funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday (3-23-15) in IHS Gospel Ministries, 786 Karen Lane, Hermitage, with the Rev. C. Charles Eckles, pastor, officiating. Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
