Obituary

Mary Felicia Malone, 1805 Village Path Dr.; formerly of 549 W. Park St., both Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly at midnight on September 5, 2009 in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, where she was a patient for a brief period. She was 85.
Mary was born June 12, 1924 in Sharon a daughter of the late Carmelo and Caterina Marcella Marcello.
She was raised in Farrell and was a 1942 graduate of Farrell High School.
Following her graduation she was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation during WWII.
She married Anthony 'Tony' Malone on June 1, 1946 and they owned and operated the former Malone's Market on 3rd St. in Masury; and the former Freeway Statuary in Hermitage until his unexpected death on November 15, 1968 at the age of 47. Mary continued to work to support her family and was employed at the former Tastee Bakery in Sharon for 27 years; and later for Palo Floral, Sharpsville, as a floral arranger for approximately 20 years.
She was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Bethany Club. Mary was a volunteer at the Prince of Peace Center, Farrell; and a swimming instructor at the former St. John's Episcopal Church swimming pool in Sharon. She was also an excellent Italian cook and would often make delicious pizza for her children and their friends. She loved to polka dance and enjoyed bowling for many years at Thornton Hall Lanes in Sharon. She will be remembered by many for her beautiful flowers she tended to at her home.
Surviving are: three daughters, Nancy Titus and her husband Timothy, Hermitage; Mary Ellen Fagan, Pittsburgh; and Cynthia Jewell and her husband Paul, Sharpsville; a son, Louis Anthony Malone and his fiancé, Debbie Griffith, both Sharpsville; seven grandchildren, Todd Titus and his wife Lisa; Tina Holt and her husband Tim; Tiffany Titus; Anthony and Marco Malone; Heather Baum and her husband Chris; and Ryan Senkosky; nine great grandchildren, Todd Allen, Ricky, Caitlin, Alyssa, Jake, Josh, Mackenzie, Logan and Lilly; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Marcella, Farrell; and Dorothy Melone, Brookfield; several nieces and nephews; a Godchild, Sandy; a former son-in-law, Ronald Senkosky; and a special neighbor, Luella.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Marcella and Vincent 'Jimmy' Marcella; and three sisters, Josephine Schiaville, Stella Seaman and Concetta Carucci.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday (9-8-09) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (9-9-09) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
