Mary 'Mitzie' Lehman, 1265 Means Road, New Wilmington, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 9:45 p.m. Saturday (4-25-09) at her residence following an extended illness. She was 70.
Mitzie was born on March 25, 1939 in Sharpsville, Pa., the daughter of Michael J. and Mary Gean Inbody Lyden.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
In her early years, she worked at both the Sharon Herald, and what is now known as The Arc of Mercer County.
She was an active member at one time at St. John Episcopal Church in Sharon where she served as Senior Warden and belonged to the Alter Guild, and the ECW (Episcopal Church Women).
Along with her husband, she enjoyed crafting and together they owned Lehman's Country Woodcraft.
She was a member and past President of what was then known as the Sharon General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary where she was in charge of the Lobby shop and candy strippers.
She married Michael Lehman on August 20, 1960, he survives at home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda L. Toth, Wilmington, North Carolina, and Lisa L. Callahan and her husband Kevin, Austintown, OH; her son, Michael Lehman and his wife Nanette, Shenango Township (Lawrence County), seven grandchildren, Justin and Kayleigh Toth, Shane, Stephanie, and Marc Lehman, and Amanda and Alana Callahan; one sister, Patricia Eckenrode, Milton, DE; and her mother, Mary Lyden of Jefferson Township.
She was preceded in death by her father, and one brother, Gene Lyden.

Services: a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (4-28-09) in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Angel L. Delacruz, chaplain of Hartland Hospice officiating.
