Mary Catherine Kennedy, 73 Manor Dr., Brookfield, Ohio; formerly of Hermitage, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday (11-2-11) at her home with her family by her side, after an extended illness. She was 71.

Mrs. Kennedy was born September 6, 1940 in Sharon a daughter of the late Thomas Patrick Marrie, Sr. and Mary Helen Guthrie Marrie.

She was a graduate of the former Penn High School, Greenville, and was a beautician for many years.

Mary enjoyed sewing, bowling, bingo, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Eagles Club, Sharon, and also the Eagles Club in Greenville. Mary served with the former Tri-County REACT Team.

Surviving are: two daughters, Marcella Zahniser, Sharpsville; and Dawn Resinger and her husband Charles, Hubbard, Ohio; seven grandchildren, James Humphrey, Angela Davis, Joshua Mazon, Ricky Conti, Kelly Nay; and Christopher and Cory Resinger; three great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Terchila and her husband Ronald, Sharpsville; two brothers, Thomas P. Marrie, Jr. and his wife Linda, Kinsman, Ohio; and George Jones and his wife Emily, Grove City, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two sons, James Richard 'Rick' Kennedy and William Russell 'Bill' Kennedy; a brother, William Jones; a sister, Patricia Dodds; a grandson, Louis Albert Conti; a granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Kennedy; and her former husband, James A. Kennedy.
