Mary Jane Black, 86, of Hermitage, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, in her home.
Mrs. Black was born January 1, 1935, in Hickory Twp., a daughter of the late Edward P. and Gladys (Koffler) McKee. A 1952 graduate of Hickory High School, she was employed for 37 years at Nationwide Insurance Co., Hermitage, retiring in 1995.
Mary Jane was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.
She lived her life for her children and grandchildren and never missed any of their activities. Mary Jane was an avid reader and the highlight of her day was walking her dog and visiting with people in her neighborhood. She also enjoyed numerous casino trips with her lifelong friends, Betty Miller and Shirley Gibson.
Her husband, Donald L. Black, whom she married September 3, 1955, passed away June 25, 2015.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Wilds and her husband Jim and Jan Urey, all of Hermitage, and Elaine Black and her companion Shawn Zentner, of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Matt (Lauren) Urey, Tim (Meghan) Urey, Justin (Aja) Wilds, Brandon (Jamie) Wilds and Jordan Wilds; and a great grandchild, Cooper Wilds.
Also surviving is a sister, Linda McKee, of Wexford, PA; and a brother, Edward McKee and his wife Marthann, of Uniontown, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by a brother, William McKee.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either Animal Pawtectors (where she got her beloved dog, Emmie) PO Box 303, Cortland, OH 44410; or to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or to the Humane Society of Mercer County, PO Box 1046, Hermitage, PA 16148.
There are no services.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
