Mary King Hoffman, 90, of Hermitage, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, in her home.
She was the youngest of three children born to Mildred Shields King and Lee King, in New Castle on June 29, 1933. Her mother and maternal grandmother died when she was an infant, and the three children were raised by their father and the loving support of their paternal grandmother.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School, Class of 1951, and attended Edinboro College. In 1953 she married Jack Hoffman, and they had two sons, Mark and Drew.
Prior to having children and after raising them, she worked as a secretary in the medical and corporation offices. Mary also worked in the same capacity, while her husband was stationed in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Naval Intelligence.
Moving to Hermitage in 1967, she was involved in school and sports activities. She enjoyed her family, friends, the Steelers, and her cats, Copy and Pip.
She is survived by a son, Mark Hoffman; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband and son, Drew in 1993; a brother, William King; and a sister, Sherrill Millsop.
As per Mary's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service.
