Mary Ann Himes, 78, of Sharon, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in her home.

Mrs. Himes was born on December 13, 1945, in New Wilmington, a daughter of the late Alfred and Leona (Heckathorn) King. She was a 1963 graduate of Mercer High School.

Mary Ann was employed at Packard Electric Division of General Motors Corp., Warren, OH, and a member of IUE Local 717. She worked there for over 30 years, retiring as a wire harness assembler.

Mary Ann was a devoted and longtime member of Hickory Global Methodist Church, Hermitage.

Her husband, George Earl Himes, whom she married on April 17, 1966, passed away on March 28, 2020. Together they shared a passion for boating, water skiing, fishing and camping. Mary Ann also loved traveling, especially visiting Florida.

She is survived by two sons, Timothy Himes and his wife Kemberly, Greenville, and Alex Himes, Snohomish, Wash.; six grandchildren, Timothy, Dillon, Nicholas, David, Eric and James; nine great-grandchildren, Oliver, Gabriel, Zoie, Freyja, Bekki, Aiden, Charlie, Trevor and Eddie; and a sister, Nancy Rose, Boswell, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry King.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hickory Global Methodist Church, 240 North Hermitage Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hour will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday (07/05/2024) in Hickory Global Methodist Church, Hermitage.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, in the church, with Rev. Christine Doren, officiating.

Interment: Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City, PA.
