Obituary

Mary Lou Gehrlein (Gronostaj/Szymanski)of Masury, OH, passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness at 5:36 a.m. Sunday (10-18-15) in the Cleveland Clinic. She was 71. Mary Lou was born in Erie, PA, July 18, 1944 the daughter of Stanley and Victoria Szymanski Gronostaj. She was raised in Erie and graduated from Academy High School, Erie, Pa. Mary Lou worked as a cafeteria worker for West Middlesex School District. She was also a manager of a family owned Country Fair. She retired from Sharon Regional Health System where she worked as a scheduling clerk. Mary Lou loved spending time with her family and all of her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, and caregiver. She was one of the sweetest, kind and loving woman any one would know. We all have fond memories of our dear mother, grandmother and friend. She loved playing cards and board games with her grandchildren. Her husband Norbert Thomas Gehrlein whom she married April 18, 1964, passed away April 30, 1991. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Ruffo and her husband Curt of Reidsville NC, Vicki Magestro and husband Justin, Ann Munson and husband Rob, all of Sharon, and Mary Beth Seech and husband Mike of Pulaski. She also leaves her twelve grandchildren, Cody Ruffo, and Drew, Malia, Giovanni & Bella Magestro, and Ashley, Sydney, Brianna, Summer & Rayna Munson, and Michael and Kiefer Seech, and one great grandson Paxton Ruffo. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Stanley Gronostaj Jr. and her infant grandson, Jacob Munson. Calling hours and funeral services: Private. Inurnment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage. Arrangements are by the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
