Mary Jane Derr, 82, of Hermitage, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.
Mrs. Derr was born on June 16, 1942, in Sharon, a daughter of the late George H. and Isabelle (Lang) Stubbs. She attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School, Sharon, and was a 1962 graduate of Villa Maria High School, New Bedford, PA.
On September 7, 1963, Mary Jane married Edwin Derr, who survives at home. They shared countless memories together, her favorites were traveling, especially to Niagara Falls.
As a young lady, she worked at the former Kay Driscoll Ladies Apparel in downtown Sharon. Mary Jane was later employed for many years in the cafeteria of the former St. Joseph's Parochial Grade School, also in Sharon.
A caregiver at heart, she took care of a lot of her family, including her grandmother, her mother and father-in-law and grandchildren. Additionally, she and her husband Ed, served as a host family to many foreign exchange students.
Mary Jane also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and participated in card club with her friends.
Mary Jane was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Kim Pollock and her husband John, of Leland, IL, Kris Staynoff and her husband Jim, of Greenville, and Karrie Johnson, of Sharpsville; a son, Edwin Derr, II and his wife Kathy, of Clinton, NC; eight grandchildren, John II, Anthony and Matthew Pollock, Melissa Savitz, Jessica Linton, Alexis and Bailey Johnson, and Sierra Hall; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Calling hour will be 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday (02/14/2025) in Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon Rd., West Middlesex, PA.
Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 1 p.m., in the church with Rev. Glenn Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
