Mary M. DeCarmen of S. Pymatuning Township passed away peacefully at
10:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 16, 2017, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, 10 days after the death of her beloved husband, Patsy. She was 84.
Mrs. DeCarmen was born April 17, 1932, in Sharon, a daughter of Antimo and Margaret Guiliano Rivetti. She attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School, Sharon, and was a 1950 graduate of Sharon High School.
Mary was employed as the church secretary at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, for 42 years, retiring in 2009. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, and its Altar and Rosary Society. Mary was active for many years at the church and school as a coordinator for fund raisers and wedding reception dinners. She was also the coordinator and a former teacher for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) program at Msgr. Geno Monti Parochial Grade School for 40 years and served as a past president for the schools' Guild. Mary was a member of the Farrell Kiwannianne Club and the Farrell Women's Club where she was a past president and board member.
Her husband of 66 years, Patsy DeCarmen, whom she married September 23, 1950 in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, passed away March 6.
Surviving is a daughter, Patricia A. McGhee and her husband Jeffrey, Kinsman, Ohio; two sons, Gary N. DeCarmen and his wife Susan, S. Pymatuning Township; and David A. DeCarmen, Transfer, PA; eight grandchildren, Jason DeCarmen, Jonathan DeCarmen and his wife Erica; Shawna Brady and her husband Shane; Dana Marie DeCarmen and her fiancé Mike Lowers; Jeffrey McGhee and his wife Jordan; Sarah McGhee and her boyfriend Thomas Wilkes; Zachary McGhee and his wife Rachael; and Katelin McGhee and her boyfriend Steve Unangst; 11 great-grandchildren, Tyler DeCarmen, Mackenzie Brady, Jordan DeCarmen, Tanner Lowers, Ayden Nicholas DeCarmen, Shawn Michael Monroe, Sophia Monroe, Everett McGhee, Aria McGhee, Aubree McGhee and Leo DeCarmen; a sister-in-law, Marcy DeCarmen, S. Boston, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clement "Cle" Rivetti, Samuel Rivetti, Joseph Rivetti and Anthony Rivetti, Jr.; three sisters, Rose Marie DeMartinis, Clementine Guffey and Magdalina Rivetti; and a daughter-in-law, Joanna DeCarmen.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday (3-21-2017) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, with Rev. Matthew J. Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
