Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday(12-13-11) for Mary Ann Butala Cipriano, Hermitage, who passed away peacefully at 12:57 p.m. Saturday (12-10-11) in her home with her family at her side after a lengthy illness. She was 83.
She was born on December 8, 1928 in Sharon the daughter of John George Butala and Mary Ann Ference Butala.
A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Sharon High School's graduating class of 1946. She went on to study at the Christian H. Buhl School of Nursing in Sharon where she earned her certification to practice as a Registered Nurse. She worked from 1949 to 1987 at what is now known as the Sharon Regional Health System. Mary Ann was an active member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, where she was a longtime member of their Women's Guild and where she sang in the church choir from 1964 until present.
She married Donald Cipriano on April 15, 1950 in SacredHeart Church, Sharon, he survives at home. She also leaves her three daughters, Mary Ann Stuhan and her husband Richard, Shaker Heights, OH, Janet Bohne and her husband Richard, Cincinnati, OH, and Jean Ellen Von Zierenberg and her husband Mark, Strongsville, OH, her son in law, James M. Uhlik, ten grandchildren, Brendan Stuhan, Sara Stuhan, Brian (Emily) Stuhan, and Caitlin Stuhan, James (Nan) Uhlik, and Allison Uhlik, Nikolaus and Kerry Zierenberg, and Jessica and Steven Bohne, three sisters, Joan Butala, Sharon, Jean Campbell and her husband Joseph, San Luis Obispo, CA, four brothers, William N. Butala and his wife Nancy, Ventura, CA, Richard Butala and his wife Sue, Sun City West, AZ, Michael Butala, Stanton, CA, and Anthony Butala, Sharon.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Lynn Uhlik, and an infant brother John Butala.
Mrs. Cipriano's family would like to thank the caring staff from Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and Palliative Care for the kindness shown towards their wife, mother, and grandmother in her final days.

Services: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday (12-13-11) in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant. A procession will leave the funeral home a 9:30 a.m. for the church.
