Obituary

Mary L. Burprich, Clepper Manor, formerly of George St. Extension, both Sharon, passed away peacefully at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, in the manor of natural causes. She was 97.

Mary was born March 25, 1915, in Farrell, a daughter of Thomas and Anna Soplanda Yereb.

A lifelong area resident, she attended Sharon schools. Following high school, she worked for a few years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corp. where she was a coil winder.

A homemaker, she belonged to Our Lady of Fatima- St. Ann's Church, Farrell. She was a long-time member of the former Saxon Home, Farrell, and its traveling bowling team. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, tending to both her flower and vegetable gardens, and baking for her family.

Her husband, Andrew Burprich Jr., whom she married Aug. 21, 1937, passed away March 30, 1980.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Burprich and his wife Lorene R.; and Dennis A. Burprich; and a brother, Anthony Yereb, all Hermitage; three grandchildren, Kim Cione, Thomas M. Burprich and his wife Lori, and Denise Burprich; and six great-grandchildren, Cali and Krysta Cione, Jaclyn and Sydney Burprich, and Dominic Helmetzi and Eric Janosky.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Eric Burprich; five brothers, Evan, Steven, Frank, Victor and Alexander Yereb; and three sisters, Theresa Bohl, Agatha Teleky and an infant Anna Yereb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell PA 16121.

Calling hours: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (5-13-12) in the J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. A rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. Monday (5-14-12) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant. A brief prayer service will begin at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to proceeding to the church.

Burial: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
