Mary A. Buglak, formerly of S. Keel Ridge Rd., Hermitage, passed away peacefully at noon Saturday, June 19, 2021, in her home surrounded by family. She was 92.
Mrs. Buglak was born April 12, 1929, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina (Sebastian) Petrillo. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and a lifelong area resident.
Prior to having children, she was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co.
A homemaker and a devout Catholic, Mary attended St. Columbkille Church in Imperial, Pa. and was a long-time active member of the former St. Adalbert Church in Farrell.
Her husband, Casimir Charles "Kie" "Cash" Buglak, whom she married June 6, 1964, passed away March 23, 2006.
Surviving are: three sons, Tony Buglak and his wife Alicia, of Raleigh, NC, Chuck Buglak and his wife Lori, of Oakdale, Pa. and Pat Buglak, of Freedom, Pa.; five grandchildren, Kiely, Jonah, Sadie, Henry and Audrey; a sister, Thomasina Palazzo, of Sharpsville; a brother, Sam Petrillo and his wife Ann, of Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary was extremely devoted to her family and prayed for all of them. She was active with her sons' sports teams and booster clubs and found great joy spending time with her family, especially watching her children and grandchildren participate in competitive sports over the years. She delighted in teaching them how to cook their favorite dishes.
Mary was known for her quick wit and great sense of humor and was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 1, Hermitage, Pa. 16148 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1501 Reedsdale St., # 105, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15233 .
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.,
1090 E. State St
., Sharon.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
