Obituary
Mary Florence Brown Ruffley, 82, of E. Hillcrest Ave., New Castle, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her residence.
Born on July 16, 1929, in Lilly, Pa., Mary was a daughter of Edward Arthur Brown and Regina Bridget McNally Brown.
She was a 1948 graduate of Lilly High School.
Mary was a familiar face at Jameson Memorial Hospital where she worked in housekeeping for 18 years.
Mary was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary's Church. Her husband John J. Ruffley whom she married February 18, 1950, passed away September 29, 1986.
She also leaves her 6 children, John D. Ruffley and his wife Joyce, New Castle, William J. Ruffley and his wife Marilyn, Conneaut Lake, Romaine Ruffley, Struthers, OH, Timothy P. Ruffley and his wife Susan, Grove City, Pa., Nancy J. Reagle and her husband Robert, and Scott E. Ruffley, all of New Castle, her sister, Winifred Brown McLucas, and two brothers, David and Kenneth Brown, all of Lilly, Pa. She was a loving grandmother, and great grandmother, she leaves 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren who she loved dearly.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Tiffany DeJohn, and Gary Ruffley, and a sister, Kathleen Homlish, and four brothers, Edward, Patrick, Raymond, and Quentin Brown.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 111 West Falls St., New Castle, followed by a Mass of Christian burial that will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Church with Rev. Victor J. Molka, pastor as the celebrant. Intermernt will be next to her husband in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in her name to please consider the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
