Mary Catherine Boggs, 83, of Sharon, passed away peacefully under hospice care on Monday afternoon, August 25, 2025, in The Grove at Greenville.

Mrs. Boggs was born May 27, 1942, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Elliott) Barreca. After graduating from Sharon High School, she enrolled in several courses at the Shenango Valley Business School.

For many years, Mary Catherine worked as a salesclerk at The Winner in downtown Sharon.

Mary Catherine was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

An avid reader, she also enjoyed listening to music and needlepoint.

Her beloved husband of 46 years, William E. Boggs, whom she married April 8, 1967, preceded her in death November 2, 2003.

Mary Catherine is survived by her daughter, Michelle Marie Boggs, Sharon, and her longtime boyfriend, Bob Reapsummer, Hubbard, OH; a sister, Sharon Barreca, San Francisco, CA; and her longtime friend, Sherry Thompson, Hermitage.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Catherine was preceded in death by a brother, William Barreca; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Barreca.
