With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Agnes Batanian, who died surrounded by her family on May 4, 2026, at the age of 95.

Mrs. Batanian was born May 31, 1930, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Karl and Mary Yarzab.

After graduating from Sharon High School, Mary went to work at Westinghouse Electric, helping to manufacture torpedoes during the Korean War. Mary also worked at Penn Star Credit Union as an Administrative Assistant.

Mary is survived by three children, Larry Batanian and his companion Bonnie Kelly, Savannah, GA; Debbie Eppinger and her husband Ken Killion, Cape Coral, Fl; and David Batanian and his wife Sally, Arlington Heights, IL; three grandchildren, Michael Batanian and his wife Jess, Brooklyn NY; Alex Batanian and his wife Kelsey, Severn, MD; and Kiel Batanian and his companion Mandy Crosby, Pittsburgh, PA and 2 great grandchildren Owen and Hannah Batanian. She also leaves a sister, Rose Mazur, Simpsonville, SC.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harlan Sonny Batanian; four brothers, Louis, Joseph, Frank, and Edward Yarzab; a sister, Genevieve Gallan; a daughter-in-law, Tricia Batanian; and a son-in-law, Dr. Bradley Eppinger.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at GulfCoast Village, where Mary made her home for the last 12 years. We would also like to thank Vitas Healthcare, who tended to Mary’s needs during the last 4 months of her life.

A graveside service will be held privately.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
