Mary Barone, 100, of Farrell, passed away Friday morning, April 5, 2019, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Barone was born April 6, 1919, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Patrick and May (Palmer) Sarcinella. She was a 1937 graduate of Farrell High School.
During WWII Mary was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. She was also a member and the head cook for more than 20 years at the Italian Home in Farrell.
An exceptional homemaker, her devotion to her family never stopped. Mary had a passion for cooking, baking, canning and sewing.
Her husband, Lee Barone, whom she married November 27, 1943 in the former St. Anthony's Church, Farrell, passed away November 9, 2002.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Dolby, of Concord, OH; two sons, James Barone and his wife Brenda, of Hermitage, and William Barone and his wife Deborah,
of Twinsburg, OH; five grandchildren, Tony (Christine) Dolby, Christopher (Jessica) Dolby, Jason (Chiyoko) Barone, Amy (John Mazzucco) Barone, and Angelina (Russell) Hake; four great grandchildren, Alyssa Dolby, Django Mazzucco, and Lee and Vincent Hake; and
one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Frank Dolby; a sister, Lucille Sarcinella; and two brothers, Felix and Patrick
Sarcinella.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Prince of Peace, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell, PA 16121.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday (04/08/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St.,
Sharon.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Church, officiating.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
