Obituary

Mary Ann (Mineo) Wiesen, 448 S. Eighth St., Sharpsville, passed away of cancer at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday (6-8-10) in her home. She was 73.

Mrs. Wiesen was born July 27, 1936 in Farrell a daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Tataseo Mineo.

She was a lifelong area resident and a 1954 graduate of Farrell High School.

Mary Ann was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a mail room clerk and a teletype operator from May 5, 1955 until April of 1963.

A homemaker, she was an active member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, and a member of its Small Christian Community Group. Earlier in her life, she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, and was a May Queen for the Sodality Society. Mary Ann was a member of the Sharpsville High School Mother's Basketball Club, Band Booster Club and the Football Booster Club.

Surviving are; her husband, Albert J. 'Jerry' Wiesen, whom she married on September 29, 1962 in Our Lady of Fatima Church by Fr. Ciaola, who is now deceased; two daughters, Nancy Ann Wiesen, Shelby, North Carolina; and Carol Ann McCurdy and her husband William, Winthrop, Mass.; three sons, Paul J. Wiesen and his wife Jane, Melrose, Mass.; Michael J. Wiesen and his wife Jodi, Clinton, PA; and Thomas J. Wiesen and his wife Darcy, Sharpsville; twelve grandchildren, Thomas J. 'TJ' Wiesen, II; Annemarie, Edward 'Ted', Timothy, Tyler, Daniel, twins Marissa and Matthew, Peter, Andrew and Robert Wiesen; and Grace Lillian McCurdy; a sister, Caroline Mineo, Sharpsville; and a brother, Anthony Mineo and his wife Judy, Sharon.

Besides her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Mineo who passed away Feb. 18, 1999.

Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday (6-11-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc, 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday (6-12-10) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
