Obituary

A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday (6-26-10) for Mary A. Sed, The Ridgewood at Shenango Valley, formerly of Hofius Lane, Hermitage, passed away Sunday (6-20-10) morning in the UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville. She was 80.

Mary was born on February 14, 1930 in Campbell, Ohio, the daughter of Rocco and Jessie Dagati DeBonis.

She was a member of Hickory High Schools graduating class of 1948.

Mrs. Sed was the owner and operator of the former Isaly's Store in Wheatland and later she worked for MCAR in Hermitage as a food service manager.

She was an active and charter member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where she belonged to their Ave Maria Society.

An avid card player, she belonged to the Our Lady of Fatima Marathon Card Club for many years and she also enjoyed reading.

Mary Lou, as she was known by her close family and friends, knew her way around the kitchen and enjoyed trying new recipes and making fresh baked goodies for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed being around her family, she will be sadly missed.

Her husband John A. Sed whom she married on October 29, 1951, survives at The Ridgewood in Hermitage.

She also leaves her daughter Janice Bombeck and her husband James, Hermitage, two sons, David A. Sed and his wife Beverly of Rootstown, Oh, and Chad M. Sed, Chillicothe, Oh; her sister, Mildred Vince, Austintown, Oh, her brother, Anthony DeBonis, Sharpsville; her six grandchildren, Joshua and Cara Sed, Sarah and Sasha Sed, and Alyse and Elija Bombeck; and her great granddaughter, Tamia Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Joan Oleksak, and a brother Jack DeBonis.

The family would like to thank the staffs of The Ridgewood and UPMC Greenville MAC Unit for their excellent care.

Services: A Memorial Mass for family and friends of Mary Lou will be celebrated on Saturday (6-26-10) at 10:15 a.m. in Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with Rev. Jeffery J. Noble, pastor of Notre Dame as the celebrant.
