IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martin Allan
Marinoff
January 8, 1949 – October 17, 2024
Martin Allan "Marty" Marinoff, 75, of Hermitage, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in his home.
Marty (Allan) was born on January 8, 1949, in Sharon, a son of the late Martin Alexander and Katherine (Virgallito) Marinoff. He was a 1966 graduate of Sharon High School and studied electronics at DeVry Technical Institute, Lisle, ILL.
A proud veteran, Marty served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was an operations manager at Allied Signal in conjunction with NASA and the Space Shuttle Program. He later set up the tracking systems for NASA, used in White Sands, New Mexico. Marty also retired from MRDD, Akron, OH, as a network administrator.
An intelligent man, he loved trivia, working on crossword puzzles and talking about history. He was jokingly referred to as "a vast warehouse of useless knowledge." He was also a talented woodworker and enjoyed tinkering on computers. Additionally, Marty was a fan of oldies music and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Ghost) Marinoff, whom he married on October 20, 1979; six daughters, Martie-Jo Brooks (David), Cleveland, GA, Christina Marinoff (Brandon Gibson), twins Stephane and Michelle Marinoff, Melissa (Marinoff) Ferguson, and Cyndi Marinoff (Todd Smith), all of Hermitage; two sons, Robert Marinoff-Gary (Jenn), Springfield, MO, and Ryan Marinoff, Dallas, TX; a sister, Cathy (Larry) Brant, Titusville, FL; seventeen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by grandchildren, Damon Marinoff and Justin Gary.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Family Promise of White and Haversham, PO Box 905, Cleveland, GA 30528.
