Martha "Tood" Santangelo, 76, of New Castle passed away Wednesday (3-9-16) in Jameson Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, on June 9, 1939, to the late Fred and Velma Harris Tedrow.
Martha was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her children and her family. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo. Martha's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family gatherings.
She is survived by four daughters, Ginger Wilson and her husband, Michael, Mary McMasters and her husband, Brad, Jean Ross and her husband, David, and Janet Kelly, all of New Castle; two sons, Robert Richard and his wife, Patty, and Joseph Richard, both of New Castle; one sister, Shirley Eberhardt; and four brothers, Fred, Martin, Clarence and Rodnie Tedrow. Also surviving are her 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Joseph Richard and Richard Santangelo; a brother, Ronald Tedrow; and three grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held noon until 2 p.m. Saturday in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St.
A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Bupp officiating.
Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
