Marguerite A. Jara passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and joy on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was known for her radiant smile and joyful spirit, bringing light and laughter to everyone who knew her.
Born on May 22, 1938, a daughter of Rocco and Mary Arcade, and raised in Farrell, Pennsylvania, Marguerite was a graduate of Farrell High School and later attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Michael Jara and David Jara, and a loving wife to her husband, Francis “Red” Jara, who preceded her in death. Family was always at the heart of her life.
A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Marguerite rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team. She had a creative soul and found joy in drawing, playing the piano and flute, and singing in the choir.
Christmas held a special place in Marguerite’s heart, as she cherished time spent with family and the warmth of togetherness. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her sisters, extended family in Maryland, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, nephew, Christian Farmakis; sisters, Carol Harakal and Mary Lou Farmakis, and her son, David Jara, as well as the compassionate nurses and aides who cared for Marguerite with dignity, kindness, and love.
Marguerite’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her sweetness, her laughter, and the joy she brought into the world.
