Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday for Mark F. Caracci of Hasenflu Drive, Hermitage. He passed away unexpectedly at 7:23 p.m. Monday (9-14-15) at his residence. He was 58. Mr. Caracci was born Feb. 22, 1957, in Sharon, one of five children born to Joseph A. and O. Kathleen Liburdi Caracci. A lifelong area resident, he was a member of Hickory High School's graduating class of 1975. Mark received his HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) education from New Castle School of Trades. He was a trained welder and had worked in past years for several local companies including Wheatland Tube Corp. Mark was a hard worker who always provided for his family; he owned and operated his own tree service for many years. An Army reservist, her reached the rank of staff sergeant and served with the 402nd Quartermaster Battalion at Pendel Caminiti U.S. Army Reserve Center, Farrell. He was a member of American Legion Post 229, Sharon. Mark served in many capacities with the Mercer County Cursillo, a movement that focuses on showing Christian lay people how to become effective Christian leaders. He was a member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. Mark loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and charter fishing on Lake Erie. He was a loving son, father, brother and uncle who, when he could, always loved attending his nieces' and nephews' sporting events. He is survived by his two daughters, Claudia K. Pennington and her husband Garrett, Lancaster, Pa.; and Gina M. Caracci, Baltimore; his son, Mark J. Caracci, Hermitage; his mother, O. Kathleen "Kathy" Caracci, also Hermitage; two sisters, Kathy Jo Taylor and her husband Bill, Sharpsville; and Karen M. D'Onofrio and her husband Joe, Hermitage; two brothers, Michael Caracci, Sharon; and Joe M. Caracci and his wife Julie, Lancaster, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Caracci, in August of this year.
