Obituary

Marjorie Kilbert, John XXIII Home, Hermitage, formerly of Spencer Ave., Sharon, passed away peacefully at 6:50 p.m. Sunday (1-16-11) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 84.

Mrs. Kilbert was born May 12, 1926 in Francis Creek, Wisconsin a daughter of Fred and Florence Strouf Mohr.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowac, WI; attended the University of Wisconsin; and obtained her BS degree in education from Youngstown University where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Sorority.

Mrs. Kilbert began her teaching career at the Brookfield Junior High School and later taught math, algebra and computers at the former Hermitage Middle School for more than twenty-five years and was credited with the introduction of computer use in the classroom.

Mrs. Kilbert was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. She was a former member of the Shenango Valley Junior Women's Club; the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics; and the Valley Service Club of which she was a past president. She also held lifetime memberships in the NEA (National Education Association) and the PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association). Mrs. Kilbert was an income tax volunteer for the elderly program in Mercer County for many years and was a breast cancer survivor. Years earlier, she enjoyed bocce and worldwide traveling with her husband.

Her husband of sixty years, George A. Kilbert, whom she married July 12, 1945, passed away November 21, 2005.

Surviving are: four children, Barbara Beatty, Sharon; Nanci Wilburn and her husband Nelson, Port Vue, PA; Jim Kilbert and his wife Terry, Hermitage; and Michael Kilbert and his wife Debbie, Canyon Country, California; 11 grandchildren, Kelly, Melissa and Tom Beatty; Adam Wilburn and his wife Bre; Courtney Lubin and her husband Dr. Fritz Lubin; Mindy Moss and her husband Jason; Vicky, Lauren and George Kilbert; and Steven and Shannon Kilbert; five great grandchildren, Jason Wilburn; Alex and Alyssa Moss; and Javier and Nadia Lubin; a brother, Robert Mohr and his wife Roseanne, Green Bay, WI; a sister, Joyce Rutherford, Kennesaw, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in ?law; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Kilbert was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Mohr.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (1-21-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday (1-22-11) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
