Marjorie Jean "Margie" Jones, 93, of Hermitage passed away peacefully with her family at her side Monday afternoon, December 21, 2020, at her residence, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Jones was born February 27, 1927, in Wheatland, a daughter of the late Joseph Cline, Sr. and Marie (Kelly) Cline. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharon High School in 1944.
Primarily a homemaker, Marjorie also worked part time as a proof reader for the Sharon Herald.
Her husband, John E. "Jack" Jones, whom she married September 10, 1945, preceded her in death March 6, 2005.
For 19 years, she and Jack enjoyed attending all of their grandchildren's activities, especially their sporting events. Her great-grandchildren could put a smile on her face regardless of the amount of pain she may have had. Margie was all about family. Christmas was her favorite time of year, when the entire family was together.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Bator and her husband, Gerald, West Middlesex; two sisters, Shirley Cline, Sharon; and her twin, Helen McLaren, Hermitage; two grandchildren, Marc (Abby) Bator, Cranberry Twp., PA; Michelle (Christopher) Piccirilli, Bangkok, Thailand; and four great-grandchildren, Lily and Tristen Piccirilli, and Avery and Greyson Bator.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Strauss and Hazel Gilliland; and two brothers, Joseph Cline, Jr., and Lawrence Cline.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed towards the Community Food Warehouse, 109A S. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.
Calling hours will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday (12-30-20) in Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon West Middlesex Rd., West Middlesex.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, in the church, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com .
