Marjorie Jane Bell of Cranbrook Drive, Hermitage, passed away of natural causes at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday (12- 10-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 86. Mrs. Bell was born April 23, 1927, in Sharon, one of nine children born to Charles and Clara Canon Axe. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharon High School. In her early years, she was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a homemaker and lifelong member of East Side Church (Baptist-Disciples of Christ), Sharon. Marjorie enjoyed bowling and playing cards; she belonged to several bowling leagues and card clubs throughout the years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, she rarely missed any sporting events in which her sons and grandchildren were involved. She loved to root for her Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. In years past, she was active with the American Cancer Society and volunteered with its Reach to Recovery program. Her husband, Carl Henry Bell, whom she married Nov. 1, 1947, in East Side Church, passed away Aug. 16, 2007. She leaves: her sons, Dr. Carl Bell and his wife Marlyn, Hermitage; Daniel Bell and his wife Eleanor, Sharon; William Bell and his companion Cindy White, Hermitage; and Thomas Bell and his wife Debra, Southlake, Texas; her grandchildren, Brian Bell and his wife Jennifer, Hermitage; Brad Bell, on active duty serving with the Navy in Hawaii; Daniel Bell and his wife Jess, Chicago; Jennifer Roberson, Bristow, Va.; Julie Dugan and her husband Micah, Haymarket, Va.; Kenny Bell, Orlando, Fla.; Dr. Christy Bell and her fiancé Bryan Mele, Tucson, Ariz.; Matthew Bell, Hermitage; and Denise Carvajal and her husband Jay and their son, Zachary, Dallas; and a greatgranddaughter, Elianna Roberson. In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her eight siblings including five brothers, her twin, Milton; and Nelson, Lester, George and Harry Axe; and three sisters, Virginia Axe, Hazel Irvine and Marian Veres.
