Maris A. Kahrer, Trinity Living Center, Grove City, formerly of Rose Ave., New Castle, PA passed away a12:15 a.m. Wednesday (8/5/2015) in Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness. She was 76. Maris was born December 8, 1938 in New Castle, the daughter of Herbert and Mildred Wheale Martin. She was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School. She attended New Creation Free Methodist Church, New Castle. She was an advocate and volunteer for children with special needs. Most of her life was dedicated to taking care of her son who was physically and mentally handicapped. She is survived by one daughter, Kristen A. Kahrer, New Castle; two sons, Scott A. Kahrer, Coraopolis, PA, and Jeffrey R. Kahrer; two brothers, Darrell W. Martin and his wife Diane, Redlands, CA, and Gary L. Martin, New Castle; three grandchildren, Jason, Kendra and Aaron; one great grandson, Jaxon, and two nephews, Dean and Darren Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and an infant sister, Sharon Martin.
