Marion I. Phillips of Whispering Oaks, formerly of Meadowbrook Rd., both Hermitage, passed away at
12:49 p.m.
Wednesday, May 4, 2016, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System.
She was 91.
Mrs. Phillips was born August 4, 1924, in Montreal, Canada, a daughter of David and Mary Bannatyne Carnie.
She moved to Youngstown as a young girl and was a 1942 graduate of South High School.
A homemaker, Marion enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping and sewing.
She and her husband were frequent walkers in Buhl Park and enjoyed golfing at Buhl Farm Golf Course (Dum Dum).
They also traveled extensively and have been to all of the United States.
Surviving are: her husband, Edwin D. Phillips, whom she married June 24, 1950; a daughter, Sandra J. Fox and her husband Gary, Mt. Vernon, IN; a son, James D. Phillips and his wife Joyce, Round Hill, VA; 5 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Manning, Boone, NC.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Buhl Farm Park, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
