Obituary

Marilyn Evans, 47, of Hermitage, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 28, 2024, following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Marilyn was born June 3, 1977, in Sharon, a daughter of Vickie (Sham) O'Hara, and graduated from Sharon High School in 1995.

Marilyn dedicated her life to caring for her family and their home. She was currently employed at Mother's Day Out, Hermitage, and previously worked for pediatrician, Dr. Paul Chlpka.

Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and "GiGi." She had an endless passion for supporting her children in their many endeavors, especially their athletic aspirations. Often found behind the lens of a camera, Marilyn had a gift for capturing priceless moments, sports action shots, or someone simply enjoying life's precious gift. She also cherished her faithful and beloved dog, Newt.

A woman of grace and style, her internal beauty was nearly outshined by her amazing sense of fashion.

Her husband of 24 years, Gregory Evans, who she married on April 29, 2000, survives at their home in Hermitage.

Marilyn is also survived by a daughter, Madison Evans, Sharon; a son, Connor Evans, Hermitage; a grandson, Constantin; her mother, Vickie O'Hara, and a brother, Neal O'Hara, both of Sharon; her mother-in-law, Pat Evans, Hermitage; a brother-in-law, Geoff Evans (Mindi), Hermitage; two nieces, Daniella and Dylan Evans; and a nephew, Dante Evans.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Rod Evans; her maternal grandparents, Leo and Marilyn Sham; and an uncle, Bill Sham.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd, Hermitage, PA 16148.
