Marilouise Shawley, 85, of Sharpsville, passed away Friday morning, August 7, 2026, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.
Mrs. Shawley was born on June 10, 1941, in Armburst, PA, a daughter of the late Harold and Catherine (Ritenour) McLaughlin. She attended the former Hurst High School in Mt. Pleasant, PA.
A homemaker, Marilouise enjoyed traveling, taking more than 200 trips on O.D. Anderson Bus Trips, whose staff became like family to her. She loved spending time with family and her pets, and looked forward to being the first to send out annual Christmas Cards. Marilouise also liked drinking coffee and reading the Sharon Herald. In her free time, she worked on word searches and watched Law and Order SVU and police and court shows. She also had a passion for collecting cookie jars, walking and yard sales.
Her husband, Donald L. Shawley, whom she married on November 9, 1952, passed away on April 24, 2002.
She is survived by seven children, Sally Harakal, of Lackawannock Twp., Donald “Les” Shawley, Jr. (Laura), of Hermitage; Rick Shawley (Lenora), of Sharpsville, Tracey Pritchard (Donald, III), of West Middlesex, Jeannie Porterfield (Baba), of Orangeville, OH, Wayne Shawley (Stacey), of Mercer, and Christina Moore (Robert), of Vienna, OH; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Harakal (Rachel), Sarah Perriello (John), Tara Avery, Michael Harakal, Christopher Shawley (Aaliah), Brittany Bush (William), Asia Cohol (Brenton), Rosalyn Leksell (Lucas), Kathryn Shawley (Craig), Cheyenne Porterfield (Meagan), Noah Shawley; seven great-grandchildren, John, Juliet, Vincent, Les, Heidi, Cayde and Ava. Also surviving is a brother, Tom McLaughlin (Cathy), of Dolan Springs, AZ.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilouise was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Koontz; a grandchild, Donny Shawley; and a great-grandchild, Aubrey Avery.
Marilouise’s family would like to thank all of the staff at UPMC Horizon Hospital for the compassionate care given to their mother during her stay.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. on Friday, in the funeral home.
Interment: Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.
