Marie Banicki, 93, of Fort Myers Beach, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024.

Marie was born on July 26th, 1930, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Gerald and Josephine (Carls) Caraher. She was a 1948 alumna of Aquinas Dominican High School, in Chicago IL, and later earned her bachelor's degree from DePaul University, Chicago. Marie had a successful career as a Marketing Director at various organizations across the Shenango Valley.

In her spare time, Marie traveled throughout the country and all over the world with her late husband, Fred. Their favorite trip was their Alaskan cruise. She also loved spending quality time with her grandchildren. In addition to her travels and family time, Marie had a fondness for long walks on the beach in Florida. Ever the fashionista, she took great pride in her impeccable sense of style and loved having her nails done.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fred Banicki, and her parents Gerald and Josephine.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry Caraher; a sister, Jo Caraher; two sons, Charles F. Banicki, of Asbury Park, NJ, and Allen J. (Julie) Banicki, of Howland, OH; two daughters, Diane M. (Peter) Kasula, of Hubbard, OH, and Carol B. (Richard) Gasior, of Howland, OH; five grandchildren, Katelyn (Josh) Kasula-Grzywana, John Kasula, Joey Gasior, James Banicki, and Vincent (Paige) Freedman; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be directed to Patriot Hospice, 986 Tibbetts Wick Rd, Girard, OH 44420.
