Marie Arthur, formerly of Brook Drive, Brookfield, and Francis Street, Masury, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Thursday (5-12-11) in O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury, where she was a resident for the past two months. She was 94.

Mrs. Arthur was born April 21, 1917, in Sharon, a daughter of John and Mary Bacik Petro.

She was a lifelong area resident and a 1935 graduate of Sharon High School.

Marie retired in 1982 from Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, where she was a respiratory therapist for 10 years. Previously she worked as a beautician in Sharon and Youngstown for 20 years.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon. Marie enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

Surviving are: a son, Gerald 'Jerry' Arthur, Brookfield; two sisters, Susan Boor, Hermitage; and Mildred Balash, Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Michael Petro, Youngstown; three grandchildren, Shelly Komorek and her husband Jeff, Hubbard; Brandy Davies and her husband Rob, Columbus, Ohio; and Jerry Arthur and his wife Dana, Brunswick, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan and Lauren Komorek; Bobby and Brady Davies; and Collin Arthur.

Besides her parents, Marie was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Paul and Andrew Petro; and a daughter- in-law, Karen Arthur.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Interment: Brookfield Township Cemetery.
