Marian R. Vadala, 73, of Hermitage passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 11, 2022, in The Grove at New Wilmington.

Mrs. Vadala was born September 23, 1948, in New Castle, a daughter of John and Margaret (Lenhart) Lazor. A 1967 graduate of Farrell High School, she attended beauty school in Sharpsville and became a licensed beautician upon graduation.

After working as a beautician for a short time, Marian found her true calling in life after the birth of children and becoming a homemaker. An exceptional cook, she loved preparing ethnic dishes for friends and family, especially during the holidays. Her meatballs and sauce, apple sheet desserts, and Easter bread were legendary.

Marian was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.

A kind and selfless woman, Marian devoted her life to caring for her family and close friends.

Her husband of 42 years, Rocco "Rocky" Vadala, whom she married January 31, 1970, preceded her in death April 7, 2012.

Marian is survived by two sons, Rocco G. "Rocky" Vadala (Mary); and Dean A. Vadala (Carrie), both of Ohio; four sisters, Dorothy Montozzi, of New Wilmington, Rosemary Rankin (Donald), of Youngstown, OH; and Catherine Gardlock and Mildred Lazor, both of Hermitage; a granddaughter, Katie Rogers-Vadala.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Vadala; and a brother, George Lazor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday (9-15-22) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
