Marian A. Cimperman, formerly of Shady Dr., Farrell and Whispering Oaks, Hermitage, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Sunday (6-13-10) in Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, New Wilmington, after a brief illness. She was 88.
Marian was born May 18, 1922 in Weirton, WV a daughter of the late George and Katherine Karas Zagorec. She moved to Farrell as a young girl and was a graduate of Farrell High School.
She retired in December of 1975 from the former First Seneca Bank where she was employed as a teller for 20 years.
Marian was an active member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, where she was a member and past treasurer of the St. Joseph's Woman's Guild and was a Sunday collection counter. She was also a member of the Shenango Valley Interfaith Council; and the Slovenian Home Ladies Auxiliary and its Pension Club.
Her husband, Joseph P. Cimperman, whom she married July 27, 1953, passed away December 29, 1999.
Surviving are: a niece, Tamara Marks and her husband Andy, Salt Lake City, UT; two nephews, Todd Zagorec and his wife Melene, Salt Lake City, UT; and Atty. John Lindow and his wife Theresa, Reston, VA; and great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Wyatt and Chase Marks; Angela, Tyler and Emily Zagorec, all Salt Lake City, UT; and Lyndle and Denton Lindow, both Reston, VA.
Besides her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by a brother, John Zagorec.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Parochial Grade School, 760 E. State St.; or St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., both Sharon, PA 16146.
Calling hour will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday (6-17-10) in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage. A Rosary will be recited by the St. Joseph Woman's Guild at 9:30 a.m. Thursday (6-17-10) in the cemetery chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday (6-17-10) in the cemetery chapel with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, as celebrant.
