A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday for Mariam A. Dunn of Transfer. She passed away peacefully of natural causes on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, in her residence. She was 90. Mrs. Dunn was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Farrell, the youngest of 11 children to Max and Anna Mihalich Mikota. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Farrell High School. Mrs. Dunn was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. during World War II in the torpedo room and the office. She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, where she was a member of the Women's Guild, having served as a past president and vice president. She also sent out sympathy and get well cards for the Women's Guild for about 22 years. Mariam was a very faithful and religious individual. During her lifetime, she visited many shrines. She went on bus trips and enjoyed playing cards and watching the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Her husband of 66 years, Raymond M. Dunn, whom she married Oct. 19, 1946, passed away April 17, 2013. Surviving are: a son, Raymond Patrick Dunn and his wife Pamela, Transfer; three daughters, Paulette L. Young and her husband Robert; Rosemary A. Lehman and her husband David; and Cynthia L. Dunn, all of Greenville; a brother, Frank Mikota, Hermitage; seven grandchildren, Renee Gearhart, Rhonda Bowman, Randi Richards, Richelle Dunn, Michelle Young, Tom Limber III and Lorrie Lehman; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Gage, Haley, Logan, Morgan, Brette, Ross and James; and a great-great-granddaughter, Zoey. Besides her husband, Mariam was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joseph, Mike, Steve and John Mikota; and three sisters, Helen Hagis, Kate Staul and Mildred Mikota. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church Food Pantry, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (4-8-15) in J.
